Fiji Rugby CEO John O’Connor says Fiji 7s coach Gareth Baber has shown interest in continuing in the position to the Olympic Games in July next year.

Baber was appointed in October 2016 and his contract is expected to expire this year.

With the Olympic Games postponed until next year, people are asking whether Baber’s contact will be extended to allow him to take the team to the Olympics.

We are currently trying to speak to FRU CEO, John O’ Connor as to what is their plan.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s Team will be looking into new types of training tactics to help keep players safe during this time of crisis.

Baber says he is looking at different training tactics that will enable players to train together but are still safe from getting the virus.

Baber says players are with their families at the moment but they have been given their training programs.

He adds the main aim now is to defend the HSBC 7s Series.
