Ba farmer to front court for allegedly being in possession of marijuana

A 48-year-old farmer of Varoko who was allegedly found with marijuana on Saturday has been charged and will be produced in the Ba Magistrates Court today.

The man has been charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs.

A 38-year-old driver who was also arrested in relation to the case has been questioned and released.

Police say the two men were travelling in a vehicle and were stopped in Namau following information received.

Upon checking the vehicle, police seized 17 bundles of dried leaves consisting of more than 900 branches packed inside a bag.
