Australia to trial commercial importation of kava from 1st December
Australian Minister for International Development and Pacific Senator Zed Seselja.

Australian Minister for International Development and Pacific , Senator Zed Seselja says from 1st December, companies and organisations will be able to apply to import kava into Australia on a trial basis.

Seselja says they know kava is culturally important to the people in Fiji and beyond.

He further says they also know that it is economically important in Fiji as well.

Seselja adds details such as how much kava can be imported and how long will the trial period be for are being worked on.

He also says obviously the importation will be based on the demand.
