As people celebrate Christmas, ATS workers lockout continues in the 10th day

As people are celebrating Christmas around the country, the Air Terminal Services workers’ lockout continues in the 10th day and the ATS Employees Trust still stands firm with their stance for the workers to return to work without conditions.

Trust Secretary Vili Finau says they do not agree with the signing of the letters that was given by the management.

He says the proposal that they offered to ATS management is to let everyone in, without any conditions and the Executives of the Union and ATSET sit with the ATS management and talk about the issues.

Finau says if the management does not want to talk, then the process will be longer and the issues will continue to go out to the media.

He says the ATS Employees Trust hopes that good sense will prevail and everyone will be back at work.

Meanwhile, Air Terminal Services has confirmed that more workers that walked out of their jobs last week want to return to work.

ATS Acting CEO Hare Mani says finding a common ground with the workers and the union is something that they have been wanting to do during the mediation process.

Mani says the mediation process between the Air Terminal Services and its locked-out workers will take place on Wednesday.
