Argentina have made history yet again after being crowned the 2024/2025 HSBC World SVNS Series league champions following their HSBC Singapore 7s semi final qualification last night.

The Los Pumas needed to finish 6th or better in this tournament to defend the title they won last year, and though the semi finals have not been played yet, they have been crowned back-to-back champions.

The history-making run did not come easy though for Argentina as they suffered a shock 26-24 loss to South Africa in their first pool match.

Argentina rep Tobias Wade says it was pretty awesome getting this result.

Wade says the team, after the Olympics, maintained entirely the same group of players, and they tried to make an effort to train hard and try to repeat what they did last year.

Wade says the league is awesome and it is a great prize for them because it is the whole year of them being competitive.

Argentina will take on the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side in the second semi final at 6.56 tonight.

The first semi final will be between Kenya and Spain at 6.34pm.
