Analesi Tuicaumia calls for early investment in children as Safeguarding Policy launches

Child Benefit Organisation founder and director, Analesi Tuicaumia says ensuring access to early care and development for every child is vital, following the launch of the National Child Safeguarding Policy.

Tuicaumia says many parents also lack understanding about brain development and proper upbringing of a child which has long-term effects on children’s lives today.

Tuicaumia also commented on the Child Policy launch, saying meetings and training sessions must now turn into real action.

Minister for Children, Sashi Kiran says every Fijian child deserves to grow up in an environment that is safe, nurturing, and protective.

Kiran says each of us has a duty to promote their welfare and shield them from any harm.

She says when children step outside their homes, whether to attend school, access services, or participate in community activities, they may encounter risks that can have long lasting effects if left unaddressed.
