Those were the comments made by the Tagicakibau family after they were woken up by the terrifying earthquake at 4am Saturday at their home in Christchurch.
Lorima and Teresa Tagicakibau with their 7 children have lived in Christchurch for the past 14 years revealed that with their strong faith in the Almighty they believe they were able to survive the ordeal.
Teresa Tagicakibau said they were able to call the other members of the Fiji community living in Christchurch and they have confirmed they are safe and well.
Teresa said last night they felt two aftershocks.
Meanwhile, another former Fiji resident who now resides in Wainoni, Christchurch, Narendra Nambiar told Fijivillage they still do not have water supply and their sewerage system has also been affected.
Nambiar reveals a number of houses in a new settlement in Christchurch where some former Fiji residents live, will have to be pulled down as they have been declared unsafe by the authorities.
Nambiar said aftershocks last night and early this morning caused more damages to buildings and other infrastructure. He added as a precautionary measure he drove to a hillside minutes after the earthquake on Saturday morning.
