An announcement is expected soon in relation to the Army Commander’s post.

Commodore Viliame Naupoto’s three month acting term comes to an end this Sunday.

Fijivillage had received confirmation at the time that the Constitutional Offices Commission had decided to delegate the Chairman of the Commission, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama to make acting appointments for upto three months.

The Commission is responsible for providing advice to the President for the appointment of the Commander of the RFMF.

According to the constitution, the Commander is appointed by the President on the advice of the Commission, following consultation with the Minister responsible for the RFMF.
