A 39-year-old suspect who allegedly attacked a 2-year-old boy and his 74-year-old great-grandmother on Friday afternoon in Nadi is now admitted in the hospital.
The alleged attack claimed the life of the two-year-old boy.
Police Media Liaison Officer, Ana Naisoro said the suspect is in hospital with injuries and that a postmortem on the deceased was carried out yesterday.
Investigation is expected to continue when the suspect and 74 year old woman are discharged from hospital.
Meanwhile, family members of the 2 year old boy are still in a state of shock.
The deceased’s aunt, an emotional Shalini Naidu told Fijivillage this morning that her nephew was his parents’ only child.
Naidu said the boy was having his lunch with his great grandmother when he was allegedly attacked by the man.
