All soldiers employed in the civil service have returned to the barracks - Tikoduadua

Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration Pio Tikoduadua says all soldiers employed in the civil service have returned to the barracks.

While speaking in a press conference this afternoon, Tikoduadua says this assurance has been given by RFMF Commander Major General Jone Kalouniwai.

Tikoduadua says the Commander has also assured him that all arms that were used for personal protection of the former Prime Minister, former Ministers and the Chief Justice have been accounted for and are back in the armoury.

Tikoduadua says he met Kalouniwai this morning and the Commander has assured him that he shares the Government’s vision for a peaceful, prosperous and secure Fiji for all Fijians.

He further says the Commander has been instrumental in the transition and his respect for the rule of law, the institution and the peaceful transfer of power is highly commendable.
