All schools in the Northern Division are closed today due to bad weather conditions and flash flooding.

Permanent Secretary for Education, Selina Kuruleca confirmed this to fijivillage News this morning.

Kuruleca says the decision has been made after consultation with the National Disaster Management Office Director.

The Nadi Weather Office says a flood warning remains in force for the low-lying and flood-prone areas adjacent to and downstream of Qawa River and Nakawaga River.

They also say a flood alert remains in force for low-lying and flood-prone areas adjacent to and downstream of Labasa River.
