Stop the rumours and false information - Rabuka

All land titles, leases and contracts will be honoured and respected – PM
Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka

Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka has hit back at false information and assured farmers and tenants of state or iTaukei land that all existing titles, leases and contracts will be honoured and respected by the People’s Coalition Government.

Rabuka says he has been informed that some irresponsible individuals are spreading malicious and false information in the community, and on social media in relation to existing titles, leases and contracts in relation to state land.

He says as Prime Minister, he wants to state categorically and for the record, that such rumours are false.

Rabuka assure tenants on these parcels of land, do not panic, do not allow these rumour-mongers to stop you from cultivating your farm, making a new investment or extending your existing investment.

He stresses that the State will honour all existing titles and will honor its lease agreement with you, full stop.

The People’s Coalition Government asks that those who are spreading these rumours to stop their malicious rumour-mongering.

Rabuka says the decision on lease renewals, etc will be carried out only after extensive consultations and in accordance with due process of the law.
