All Blacks captain Sam Cane has refused to blame the cards as the reason for their 24-22 defeat against the Wallabies in the Tri-Nations last night.

New Zealand front-rower Ofa Tu'ungafasi was handed a red-card for a shoulder charge on Tom Wright while Wallabies debutant Lachie Swinton was sent off for a similar high tackle.

Marika Koroibete and Scott Barrett were both shown yellow cards.

Cane says it does not matter if there are fifteen players on each side or it gets down to fourteen, the game is based on building pressure, playing smart, intensity and accuracy.

The All Blacks will meet Argentina in their next Tri-Nations match at 6.10pm this Saturday.
