Azfeen Shaukat Ali, a full-time nurse and farmer

Azfeen Shaukat Ali, a full-time nurse and farmer, received a government grant under the Young Entrepreneurship Scheme to promote farming in the country.

Ali is a passionate farmer who has dedicated his life to farming and lived his entire life revolving around the sugarcane farm with his parents.

He says his passion for farming began when he was in Year 2 where he started working in the cane fields with his father by helping him with cleaning and weeding.

Ali says after finishing from his nursing job, he does other farm-related work till it gets dark and that is how he achieves the target of 700 tonnes of cane.

He adds that he is balancing both because he didn’t want to lose the years of hard work done by his parents and grandparents.
