Fake news is being circulated that the government will close down Queen Victoria School.

Minister for Education, Rosy Akbar stresses that the information being spread by some people are totally false.

Akbar says the Ministry of Education has just built a new 3 storey classroom block and it is ready for commissioning.

The Education Minister says all teachers will also complete the whole school year if they retire within an academic year.

One of the people allegedly spreading the information on social media was a failed candidate of the suspended SODELPA, Faith Grace.

She also claimed in the post that teachers who have reached 55 years will be retired on the spot, and also made a call for ex students to organise protest marches and meetings.

Akbar stresses that there is absolutely no truth in what is being circulated.
