Stoning incidents highlighted by the Police demonstrates Rabuka’s the divisive character - Sayed-Khaiyum

National Federation Party Leader, Professor Biman Prasad says FijiFirst General Secretary, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has tried to create the situation that there is some kind of crisis in the country and by doing that, he is damaging the economy, the confidence of the people and the business in this country.

He says the police must investigate him now.

People’s Alliance Leader Sitiveni Rabuka says the verbal attacks on him by FijiFirst General Secretary, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum were personal and he will follow whatever legal recourse he has to exercise his right as a citizen of this country while Professor Biman Prasad says Sayed-Khaiyum is a bad loser and is inciting hate and violence.

They have highlighted this while responding to Sayed-Khaiyum’s comments yesterday where he claimed stoning incidents highlighted by the Police demonstrate the divisive character of the People’s Alliance Leader Sitiveni Rabuka.

Sayed-Khaiyum says the entire rationale of Rabuka is to divide Fiji and to gain political supremacy.

When questioned, he had further said that they had received some incidents.

Professor Prasad says Sayed-Khaiyum should just accept defeat and let the constitutional process take place.

He says FijiFirst has only received about 42 percent of the votes and are not accepting the fact that they have lost the election and people have voted for a change but what he is trying to do is sidetrack and bothering about what is happening with other parties.

He says its none of his business to lecture about what is happening with other parties but more importantly and serious is that he is inciting hate and violence by exaggerating and saying things like investors are thinking about leaving the country.

Professor Prasad asks where is the evidence for this.

He further says the signing of the agreement, the letter to the President and the decision of the management board of SODELPA is very clear that the party has decided that it will form a government with the People's Alliance and the NFP.

Professor Prasad says SODELPA has issues within themselves to resolve but they are confident there are good people who have negotiated the actual agreement with them and they have confidence in the people in that party.

He says the details of the agreement is being negotiated and it is on track.

The NFP Leader also says Sayed-Khaiyum is trying to put on a brave face and is acting like a bad loser.
