Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says that unfortunately in Fiji social media is heavily abused, and doctors need to know and be aware of what is going to have an impact on their work.

While addressing newly inducted doctors, Sayed-Khaiyum also highlighted the importance of developing self-discipline with regards to the use of technology.

Meanwhile, Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Philip Davies says that even in overseas countries medical professionals use digital technologies.

Davies also highlighted that social media never forgets and urged the newly inducted doctors to think twice before putting things on social media.

Davies says the Ministry is in the process of developing a policy after the circulation on social media of the recent video which features a number of nurses in uniform singing their version of the “Jingle Bells”.
