The Interim Attorney General hopes the SDL Party will come on board and participate in the National Council for Building a Better Fiji to work on the People's Charter.
Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said a number of fundamental issues need to be addressed before political parties start talking about returning to power.
While the SDL maintains that the People's Charter is not part of the constitution and the interim government should refrain from starting work on the charter, Sayed-Khaiyum said there is nothing illegal about trying to have a truly democratic nation which has equal opportunities for all, irrespective of race and religion.
Sayed-Khaiyum said the SDL Party and Ousted Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase still has a chance to join the National Council.
Stay with us as Qarase is expected to comment later today.
