90% vaccination rate will serve as a further layer of protection for locals and visitors - Hill
Tourism Fiji CEO, Brent Hill

Tourism Fiji CEO, Brent Hill says 90% vaccination rate for Fiji’s eligible adult population will serve as a further layer of protection for locals and visitors.

He says after a 20-month lull, the tourism industry is busy preparing to receive international visitors from December 1st, when national carrier, Fiji Airways resumes international commercial flights for fully vaccinated passengers from travel partner countries.

Hill further says to date, over 500 tourism operators have registered with Care Fiji Commitment Programme and more than 240 tourism properties will be certified.

Tourism Fiji’s CEO says through the Care Fiji Commitment Programme, tourism operators have established globally COVID-safety practices that are approved by the World Health Organization and recognized by the World Travel and Tourism Council.

He says from airline to accommodation, the Fijian tourism industry has worked hard to ensure the safety of all patrons and helped steer an operational shift to COVID-safety.
