9 Fijian age care workers encouraged to inculcate a culture of savings as they depart to work in Australia

9 Fijian age care workers will be going to Australia next week under the Pacific Labour Scheme for a term of three years.

While speaking to the age-care workers, Minister for Employment Parveen Bala has encouraged them to inculcate a culture of savings.

Bala told the 9 that they are going to earn, they are going to save and bring that money back to Fiji.

The Minister also shared a story from Parliament.

He has urged them not to tarnish the Fijian brand as they are ambassadors of Fiji.

The First Secretary Political from the Australian High Commission, Malcolm Paterson says while the group is not large, they will pave way for the many hundreds of Fijians in the upcoming months.

Paterson says through these employment opportunities they will be able to support their families and communities in Fiji.
