A total of 48 Pacific Sun aircraft engineers and pilots will be made redundant at the end of next month.
Pacific Sun General Manager, Jim Samson said as confirmed yesterday a total of 85 employees will leave the company on January 31st, 2011, and the people leaving have already been identified.
Samson said with the reduction in the Pacific Sun workforce, some operations services will be handled by Air Pacific.
Samson said they had to take the step as Pacific Sun has been making losses amounting to about 6 million dollars a year over the last three years.
He said with the 85 workers leaving the company, 125 employees will work at Pacific Sun from February 2011.
