45,000 more people now have bank accounts through Financial Inclusion
45,000 of the people who did not now have bank accounts during a survey in 2010 as part of Fiji's Financial Inclusion project, now have opened their accounts.

According to Manager Financial Systems Development at the Reserve Bank of Fiji, Eliki Boletawa, this is from 2010 to the first quarter of 2012.

According to Boletawa the bank along with its stakeholders aim to expand financial outreach to places where banks do not exist.

In further aiming to close the financial gap Boletawa said that they are relaxing certain areas to make it easier for more people to open bank accounts in remote areas.

The Reserve Bank Of Fiji in 2009 took the leadership role in promoting Financial Inclusion in Fiji.
