31 lives lost in 2017 due to speeding - LTA

Thirty-one lives have been lost on our roads in 2017 as a result of speeding on our roads and it has been the main cause of accidents for the past three years.

The Land Transport Authority says that this year, they will be working with other stakeholders to enhance the visibility and mobility of our roads. 

Meanwhile, Police statistics have revealed that more than 30,000 drivers were booked for speeding last year.

According to National Traffic Infringement records for 2017 speeding was also the most common offence recorded.

Police traffic infringement statistics show that 31,632 drivers were fined for speeding last year.
