3 women allegedly forced into prostitution now in safe house
The Immigration Department has today revealed that the three Asian women who have been allegedly forced into prostitution after they were brought to Fiji last week, are now at a safe house.

Immigration Director, Major Nemani Vuniwaqa said they have also established after interviewing the women that they are from Thailand and were brought in by two men.

These women were promised jobs in Fiji however when they arrived here, their travel documents were taken away, their movements were restricted and they were allegedly forced into prostitution.

Major Vuniwaqa said they have established that this is a human trafficking case involving a number of people.

One of the men is from Thailand while the other is a person holding a British passport.

They are being questioned while the third man taken in for questioning is holding a Fiji passport.

Earlier today they were taken to three different locations where they are being questioned separately.

Stay with us for further developments as the Immigration Department is confident that more people will be rounded up in the next few hours.
