22-year-old woman had tried to withdraw alleged sexual harrassment complaint

Police have confirmed that a 22-year-old woman who had earlier alleged that she was sexually harassed by a senior business executive, had told Police that she wanted to withdraw the complaint.

The woman had filed the complaint in September this year.

Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro says a report was lodged at Totogo Police Station but the investigation was taken over by the Criminal Investigations Department.

She also confirms that the woman has not been forthcoming with the Police investigators and on one occasion, had asked to withdraw the case.

Naisoro says the CID team is still waiting for the woman.

She also says that claims that the case was taken up by the CID after allegations surfaced on social media are false as the CID was already involved in the investigation.

We will have more later.
