2019 Rugby season is heartbreaking for Samu Kerevi

Former Wallabies Vice-Captain Samu Kerevi

Former Wallabies Vice-Captain Samu Kerevi says he still has some unfinished business in Australian rugby after a heartbreaking 2019 rugby season.

Kerevi had one of his best international seasons in 2019 including a brilliant opening Bledisloe Cup Test win in Perth but failed to claim it back a week later.

The 26-year-old says it was heartbreaking, as they could not retain the Bledisloe Cup at Eden Park and only reached the quarterfinals in the 2019 Rugby World Cup. Kerevi says it is hard and credit to the All Blacks as they are an unreal team.

He says he will always put his hands up to play for the Wallabies, but because of the current eligibility rules, he can not.

He adds those young players playing for the Wallabies deserve to wear the number 12 and 13 jerseys.

Kerevi signed a 3-year deal with the Suntory Sungoliath in Japan’s Top League.
