2 people still being questioned for alleged involvement in murder
Two people are still being questioned for their alleged involvement in the murder of two youths in Labasa over the weekend.

Police say the Director CID is in Labasa to oversee the investigations as a woman and a man are still being interrogated.

No other details have been released.

The post mortem report of the two deceased indicate the cause of death to be a direct result of injuries sustained by the deceased.

The bodies of 21 year old tertiary student, Abhishek Kumar and 17 year old high school student Samuel Vikash Nand were found by a 44 year old farmer about 50m away from the Labasa Nabouwalu highway, at Korosomo Hill on Sunday morning.

The father of one of the deceased, James Nand has raised concern on the delay in conducting the search for his son.

Nand claims when he went to Labasa Police Station on Saturday to lodge a report about his missing son, a police officer told him that they cannot start the search as they will have to follow the twenty four hour time frame.

He said the police officer also told him that they had no vehicle to conduct the search.

Questions have been sent to Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro in relation to the procedure where the search for any missing person will commence after they are missing for twenty four hours.
