Good news as the Ministry of Health is getting two new CT scan machines for CWM Hospital.

A CT scan is a diagnostic imaging procedure that uses a combination of X-rays and computer technology to produce images of the inside of the body.

It shows detailed images of any part of the body, including the bones, muscles, fat, organs and blood vessels.

Minister for Health, Doctor Ratu Atonio Lalabalavu confirms the first machine was offloaded at CWM Hospital yesterday as part of a COVID grant supported by the Government of Japan.

The old CT scan’s projected replacement time was 2023 and it was decommissioned earlier this month.

The new machine has been installed today.

Doctor Lalabalavu says the Ministry is getting two machines.

The second CT scan machine which is funded by the government is expected to arrive in April this year.
