2 charged for circulating false news
Nadi pastor Laione Lutunacevamaca and Fiji Rugby Union chairman Bill Gavoka appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court in the last hour charged with one count of making false news that foster public alarm and public anxiety.

The court heard that between 8th March to 16th June this year in Nadi, Lutunacevamaca made false news on an email of a prophecy on the 23rd of June at 2.30pm that Fiji will be struck by a disaster.

Gavoka has been charged for circulating the e-mail on the 16th of June.

The two men have been granted bail with assurity and will appear in court tomorrow afternoon for mention.

Suva lawyer Aseri Vakaloloma is representing Pastor Lutunacevamaca while Filimoni Vosarogo represented Gavoka.
