195,883 students will start school from Tuesday while 13,099 teachers will return to school tomorrow.

Minister for Education Rosy Akbar says 5,794 children will begin their formal learning journey as they have enrolled for the first time at Early Childhood Education Centres.

Akbar also says they are anticipating 7,159 students to exit the education system after completing 13 years of formal learning at the end of the final term.

The Minister adds as they continue to rebuild from TC Yasa and the ongoing health crisis, she is hoping everyone can work together to improve learning outcomes for the students.

She says in collaboration with their partners they have assisted more than 6,000 students in the TC Yasa affected areas with school supplies.

Akbar says they will continue to provide school supplies and psycho-social support to students affected by TC Yasa and COVID-19.

The Minister has wished the students, parents, teachers and respective school management productive and excellent educational school year.
