16-year-old boy passes away after being swept away in flooded drain in Nadera

A 16-year-old boy passed away yesterday after he was swept away while trying to retrieve a rugby ball from a flooded drain in Nadera.

Police and National Fire Authority officers from Valelevu recovered the body yesterday afternoon.

The incident occurred at the Nadera Ground opposite Duvula Road.

Expect the rainy weather to continue until later tomorrow as a trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain remains slow moving over Fiji.

The Nadi Weather Office says heavy rain may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.

If you live in Navua, Suva, Nausori, Sigatoka and Coral Coast,  Kadavu, Lomaiviti and the Lau group, expect occasional showers and a few thunderstorms until tomorrow.
