14,000 people remain in evacuation centres in the areas affected by severe floods last week going into this Easter weekend.
DISMAC is still stressing the importance of a coordinated approach to ensure that everyone at the evacuation centres and those severely affected but not at the centre, are assisted.
DISMAC Director, Pajiliai Dobui said people and organizations should approach DISMAC to find out the areas that need assistance to avoid duplication or missing out people.
Dobui said so far they have distributed rations to all the evacuation centres and areas affected except the areas in Navosa due to landslides.
They are expected to gain access to those areas by tomorrow.
He also said they are in the process of moving evacuees who are staying in schools to ensure that school resumes in the West by next Tuesday.
However Dobui stresses that none of the families will be forced to go back to their homes if their houses are not in good condition.
He said alternative evacuation centres will be sought and the last option is for people to remain at the school.
