117,528 individuals have so far received COVID booster doses

As of 31st March, a total of 117,528 individuals have so far received COVID booster doses.

Permanent Secretary for Health Dr James Fong says the booster dose has been approved for deployment at a reduced post-dose 2 interval of 3 months compared to 5 months before.

He says he has also instructed teams to go back to health facilities and do targeted booster programs for the vulnerable and the willing and to focus on our 12 to 18-year-olds through the school vaccination program.

Meanwhile, Fiji has recorded 10 new COVID cases of which 5 new cases were recorded on Thursday and 5 new cases in the last 24 hours ending at 8am yesterday.

All the 10 cases were recorded in the Central Division.

There are currently 54 active cases of COVID in Fiji.
