11-year-old boy dies after being hit by a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old boy

An 11-year-old boy is the latest road death victim after he was allegedly bumped by a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old along Queen's Road, near Veisari, Lami.

Police say the suspect resides in Sigatoka and is a Provisional License holder.

They say the suspect was driving towards Suva when he allegedly hit the victim who was crossing the road.

The victim was rushed to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital where he was unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival.

The road death toll now stands at 10 compared to 0 for the same period last year.

Investigations continue.
