A 10-year-old student passed away in a road accident near Koronivia early this morning.
Police Director of Traffic, Mahesh Mishra said the 10-year-old boy was crossing the road near Koronivia when he was hit by a 5 tonne truck travelling from Nausori to Suva.
The driver is now in custody.
Mishra is urging drivers to be cautious during the peak traffic periods.
He is also asking parents and guardians to ensure that children follow the road rules.
