8 people will appear in the Suva Magistrates Court today while two will be appearing in the Nadi Magistrates Court in relation to the alleged discovery of methamphetamine during multiple joint raids conducted in the Central, Southern and Western Divisions.

Police say in relation to the Flagstaff raid, a Fijian and foreign national have been jointly charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs, and one count of possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime.

In relation to the first raid conducted at a home in Rewa Street, three foreign nationals have been jointly charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs, and one count of possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime.

They say in relation to the second raid at a home in Rewa Street, a Fijian and two foreign nationals, have been jointly charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs.

They add that one of the foreign nationals is facing an additional charge of prohibited immigrant and the second foreign national is facing an additional charge of possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime.

Police say the two foreign nationals suspected to be connected to the accused persons arrested in the Southern Division, and were intercepted in Namaka, have been jointly charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs.
