1 child loses limb while another suffered severe head injury in Lautoka bus accident

The tragic bus incident that occurred at Ajodhya Prasad Street in Banaras, Lautoka has seen two of the 78 children on board the bus having severe injuries.

Permanent Secretary for Health Dr James Fong confirmed to fijivillage News that one of the two victims lost a limb while the other had a head injury and had to be airlifted to the CWM Hospital.

Dr. Fong says it is important that we respect the families’ grief at this moment.

Minister for Transport Ro Filipe Tuisawau has confirmed that an investigation is currently underway into the recent accident in Lautoka.

Ro Filipe says that he has directed teams at LTA to conduct a thorough investigation in collaboration with relevant authorities, including a review of its licensing framework and the continuous monitoring of safety standards to be upheld by Public service providers while on the road.
