The Assistant Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Sakiusa Tubuna, is calling on the province of Naitasiri for a collective effort in the fight against the infiltration of harmful substances into their villages.

While officiating at the Nabobuco District School fundraising Rugby 7s tournament, Tubuna says one of the major issues that has affected the villages in Naitasiri is the rise of drug abuse, particularly marijuana and methamphetamine.

He stressed that the use of drugs will destroy the villages and their progress, and will bring suffering to women and children.

He says they must tackle this problem collectively, and the government cannot do it alone, but if they stand united, they can prevent the widespread harm these substances would bring to our communities.

He noted that the two-day fundraising event is a significant step forward, focusing on a platform of collective effort to successfully achieve the goal of building the multipurpose hall for the school.

Tubuna acknowledged the purpose of the tournament to fundraise for a multipurpose hall for the school and thanked the people of Nabobuco for supporting the school’s efforts.
