A 23-year-old woman residing in Rakiraki has been charged by the Fiji Police MPAiSA Taskforce for allegedly dishonestly obtaining $336 through the MPAiSA platform.

Police say funds were automatically transferred to her account, and upon receiving, she withdrew the money that she was not eligible to receive.

They say this is alleged to have occurred on the 31st of January last year.

Police say the matter was then reported to Valelevu Police Station and she will appear in the Sigatoka Magistrate court today.

In a separate case, a 44-year-old caregiver of Dreketi Feeder Road, Lautoka, was charged with obtaining financial advantage.

Police say it is believed that she dishonestly obtained $250 from a member of a public through the MPAiSA platform on 3rd January last year.

They say she created a Facebook account for her husband without his knowledge and was dealing with members of the public.

Police say her husband is a 43-year-old Disk Jockey and provides live streaming services.

They say the accused was receiving money for services as advertised on Facebook without her husband's knowledge.

Police say the matter was then reported at Nabua Police Station and she will appear in the Lautoka Magistrate court today.
