Global Care Suva has secured its place in the semi-finals of the Extra Supermarket Battle of the Giants despite suffering a 2-1 defeat to Nasinu at 4R Stadium in Govind Park, Ba.
This result eliminates Navua from semi-final contention, while Nasinu will await the outcome of the match between Labasa and Navua.
Labasa needs a 3-0 victory to qualify for the semi-finals.
Nasinu’s Paul Francis opened the scoring in the 18th minute before Suva striker Gagame Feni equalised just three minutes later.
Nasinu captain Billy Afi, who is originally from the Solomon Islands, then scored the decisive goal to give his side a 2-1 victory.
Despite the loss, Suva’s earlier results have given them enough points to qualify for the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, Tagimoucia Nadi is currently playing Stratum/PPCL Rewa in another BOG encounter.
In the upcoming matches, Blue Gas Navua will face defending champions Extra Supermarket Labasa at 3.30pm, while hosts Dayal’s Steel Ba will take on Khelvin Engineering Lautoka at 5.30pm.
