100 participants successfully completed training under the Solesolevaki ni Veitaqomaki initiative at Raviravi Village on Beqa Island and the Minister for Policing, Ioane Naivalurua has acknowledged their commitment.
Naivalurua, who officiated as the chief guest at the graduation ceremony, thanked the graduates for their dedication and contribution towards building a better nation for future generations.
He says the government recognises the commitment shown by the participants and their willingness to play a role in creating safer and stronger communities.
The Minister says the purpose of the initiative is to build, progress, sustain and achieve prosperity for the future.
Naivalurua stressed that this responsibility must be shared individually, collectively as a vanua, and as a nation to ensure a secure and prosperous Fiji.
The Solesolevaki ni Veitaqomaki initiative aims to strengthen community participation in promoting safety, security and national development.
The graduates successfully completed nationally recognised maritime training aimed at enhancing maritime safety, strengthening technical skills, and building the capacity of island communities to safely operate and maintain vessels while improving their resilience and self-reliance.
