Team Fiji's medal hopes received a major boost after boxer Jasmine Daunakamakama powered into the semi-finals of the Women's 57kg division with a commanding 4-1 victory over Sri Lanka's Keshani Hansika.
On the track, Heleina Young clocked a season-best time of 24.45 seconds to finish sixth in the Women's 200 metres heats, while long-distance specialist Yeshnil Karan also recorded a season best, finishing 12th in the Men's One Mile event in 4 minutes 12.28 seconds.
In the pool, Kelera Mudunasoko placed sixth in the Women's 200 metres Breaststroke with a time of 2 minutes 47.86 seconds.
Team Fiji's men's swimming team also finished seventh in the 4x100 metres Medley Relay, clocking 4 minutes 2.77 seconds.
Meanwhile, it was a tough outing on the bowling greens, with Elizabeth Moceiwai going down 2-0 to Scotland's Sophie McGrouther in the Women's Singles Sectional, while Fiji's Men's Pairs team also lost to New Zealand in their sectional match.
Attention now turns to another busy day of competition for Team Fiji.
Sitiveni Konataci will compete in the Men's Discus Throw F42-44/F61-64 Final from 7.25am this morning.
Later tonight, Elizabeth Moceiwai will resume her Women's Singles Sectional campaign at 7.30pm, before Fiji's Men's Pairs bowling team returns to action in its sectional match at 8.55pm.
In weightlifting, Taniela Tuisuva Rainibogi will take to the platform in the Men's 110kg competition, which gets underway at 8.30pm tonight.
Meanwhile, Australia continues to dominate the medal tally with 35 gold, 18 silver and 29 bronze medals. Canada is second with 13 gold, 11 silver and 13 bronze medals, while England is third with 10 gold, 19 silver and 15 bronze medals.
