Tributes have started flowing in for the late Minister for Employment, Productivity and Workplace Relations, Agni Deo Singh from leaders of industry, government and friends.
Minister for Foreign Affairs Sakiasi Ditoka says they came together and worked hand in hand to restore our Fiji.
Ditoka says they shared that purpose, and fought in the trenches with that vision.
He says Singh fought in Caucus, in Cabinet and in Parliament for what he believed in, spoke his mind, stood his ground and always had the respect of those he worked with.
Permanent Secretary for Employment Maretino Nemani says Singh dedicated much of his life to standing up for workers and improving the lives of ordinary Fijians.
Nemani says together, they worked to strengthen Fiji’s voice on labour issues across the Pacific, including through the establishment of the Pacific Labour Ministers Meeting.
He says true to his strong-willed character and lifelong commitment to workers, even in his final moments, Singh was in Queensland serving our people and engaging with Fijian workers under the Pacific Labour Mobility Programme, serving Fiji's workers until the very end.
President of the Nadi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Lawrence Kumar described the late Minister as a humble, approachable and compassionate leader who treated people from all walks of life with dignity and respect.
Kumar says Singh was a very humble, approachable and compassionate man who always made time to listen to the concerns of others.
He says Singh's passing is a tremendous loss not only to the Government, but also to Fiji’s workers, employers and the wider community.
