The world's top invitational rugby sevens tournament is set to return bigger than ever in 2027, with Communications Fiji Limited, the parent company of FM96, LegendFM, VITIFM, Navtarang, Radio Sargam and fijivillage, rejoining forces with the McDonald's Fiji Coral Coast Sevens as its official media partner.
The partnership was officially signed today ahead of the 15th edition of the tournament, marking the return of CFL as the event's media partner.
McDonald's Fiji Coral Coast Sevens founder Jay Whyte says he is delighted to be working with CFL again, describing the company as an important part of the tournament's history.
Whyte says the renewed partnership will bring fresh ideas to better engage rugby fans and visitors while helping take the tournament to an even higher level.
He says the 2027 tournament from the 14th to the 16th of January, will maintain its 24-team men's format, with the $50,000 first prize again up for grabs.
Whyte confirms defending champions Yaro Chiefs, the New Zealand Sevens and Australia Sevens teams have already committed to the tournament, while the Chennai Bulls are expected to field both men's and women's teams.
He says the 2026 edition attracted a record number of international teams, and organisers are expecting another strong international lineup next year.
Whyte believes the Fiji Coral Coast Sevens has now established itself as the world's leading invitational rugby sevens tournament.

He says the tournament gives Fijians a rare opportunity to watch some of the world's best sevens players and teams compete on home soil, despite Fiji not hosting an HSBC SVNS Series event.
Whyte also confirmed that the Mike Friday Select Team will return in 2027, giving fans another chance to watch elite international players up close.
CFL General Manager Charles Taylor says the company is excited to return as the tournament's media partner and is committed to delivering extensive coverage across all its platforms.

Taylor says fans can expect promotions across CFL's five radio stations, coverage on fijivillage, online videos and reels, news updates, as well as live entertainment, MCs and a sound system to enhance the tournament atmosphere.
Whyte also confirmed several major sponsors have already committed to the 2027 tournament, including naming rights sponsor McDonald's, Shangri-La as the women's division sponsor, GML through its Chery brand as the Bread Bank youth division sponsor, Tourism Fiji, Fiji Airways as the official airline, MOGUL, Xcelerate and Singapore River Safari.
He says discussions are continuing with additional sponsors as preparations for the 2027 McDonald's Fiji Coral Coast Sevens gather momentum.
