Stratum/PPCL Rewa continued their strong run in the Extra Supermarket Battle of the Giants, defeating hosts Dayal’s Steel Ba 3-0 in their second Pool B match at 4R Stadium in Govind Park, Ba.
Brazil-born Lucas Santos opened the scoring for Rewa before Merrill Nand and Ivan Kumar scored to seal all three points for the Delta side.
The victory takes Rewa to six points from two matches, putting them in a strong position as they push for a place in the semi-finals.
However, the semi-final spots are still up for grabs, with the remaining teams battling for crucial points in their final pool matches.
In today’s other matches, Nasinu edged Blue Gas Navua 1-0, Khelvin Engineering Lautoka defeated Tagimoucia Nadi 2-0, while Global Care Suva stunned defending champions Extra Supermarket Labasa 3-0.
The race for the semi-finals intensifies tomorrow, with Nasinu facing Suva at 11.30am, Nadi to play Rewa at 1.30pm, Navua to face Labasa at 3.30pm while hosts Ba will take on Lautoka at 5.30pm.
