Tevita Ikanivere will Captain the FIJI Water Flying Fijians as they prepare for the Japan Centennial Test under the guidance of their new head coach, South African Jake White, who led the Springboks to victory at the 2007 Rugby World Cup.
Ikanivere, who has been a key figure in Fiji’s forward pack, will play a central role in the team’s preparations as they look to deliver a strong performance against Japan.
The squad features experienced forwards Peni Ravai, Mesake Doge, Samuela Tawake, Isoa Nasilasila, Mesake Vocevoce and Motikiai Murray, who are expected to provide strength, physicality and leadership up front.
They will be supported by Kitione Salawa, Isoa Tuwai, Meli Tuni, Penaia Cakobau and Kavaia Tagivetaua, adding depth and competition within the forward pack.
In the backs, Frank Lomani, Ben Volavola, Sam Wye, Kemu Valetini and Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula are among the players expected to play important roles in directing Fiji’s attack.

The squad also includes experienced campaigners Terio Tamani, Joji Nasova, Isikeli Rabitu and Maleli Nauvasi as the Flying Fijians look to combine attacking flair with composure and consistency.
Meanwhile, the selection provides opportunities for emerging players to make their mark on the international stage, with several players identified as potential debutants in the squad announcement.
The inclusion of new talent alongside established internationals reflects the team's efforts to build depth and strengthen competition for places within the national side.
The Flying Fijians will be looking to put their preparations into action against Japan, with the Test providing an important opportunity to assess the squad ahead of their upcoming international commitments.
Fiji will face Japan next Saturday at 5.50pm.
