Passport enrolment services suspended amid Immigration system upgrade

Passport enrolment services have been suspended from yesterday, until further notice due to an ongoing system upgrade.

The Ministry of Immigration says members of the public should await further updates, with services expected to resume once the system has been fully restored.

They say the disruption has led to frustration among members of the public who have turned up at the Immigration office seeking services.

A concerned member of the public told fijivillage News that people were turned away from the office and instead given a number to call before visiting.

She says staff were unable to provide a timeframe for when the system would be restored.

The woman also expressed frustration over what she described as a lack of timely communication about the disruption.

She claims there has been no update on the Immigration Department’s website since June 30th.

The Ministry further updates will be shared once services are fully restored.

Further questions have been sent to the Ministry of Immigration.
