Manchester City has been found guilty of serious breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules over nine seasons and could face fines, points deductions or other sporting sanctions.
An independent Commission found City guilty of all serious financial charges covering the 2009/10 to 2017/18 seasons and most charges relating to its failure to co-operate with the Premier League investigation.
The Commission found the club used sham commercial deals to artificially increase revenue and reduce costs by more than £900 million, equivalent to about FJ$2.68 billion, to appear to comply with financial rules.
It also found City filed misstated accounts, concealed the true state of its finances and significantly breached Premier League and UEFA spending limits.
Premier League Chief Executive Richard Masters has described it as the most significant disciplinary case in Premier League history.
No punishment has been announced, with sanctions to be decided at a separate hearing.
Manchester City has until Friday to appeal the findings.
