40-year-old Keni Salawai has been remanded for allegedly drinking alcohol in a public place and assaulting a police officer on Monday night.
Salawai fronted the Suva Magistrates Court today, charged with one count each of drinking in a public place, serious assault, damaging property, and criminal intimidation.
Police say Salawai is alleged to have assaulted a police officer, damaged police uniforms, and verbally abused and threatened officers at the scene.
The case has been adjourned to 22nd September.
