Defending champions Extra Supermarket Labasa FC will be out to retain their Extra Battle of the Giants title and claim a sixth championship when the tournament gets underway next weekend.
The Babasiga Lions are five-time BOG champions, having won the title in 1997, 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2025.
Labasa also has seven runners-up finishes in the tournament and will enter this year’s competition with plenty of confidence after defeating Rewa 2-1 in last year’s final at Subrail Park.
Under head coach Alvin Chand, Labasa will begin their title defence against Nasinu at 3pm next Friday.
They will then face Suva at 3.30pm on Saturday before completing their Pool A campaign against Navua at 3.30pm on Sunday.
With the tournament being held at 4R Stadium at Govind Park in Ba, Labasa will be targeting a place in the semi-finals as they look to make another strong push for the BOG crown.
A sixth title would further strengthen the Babasiga Lions’ place among the most successful teams in the tournament’s history.
Meanwhile, the semi-finals and final will take place on the 12th and 13th of September at 4R Stadium, Govind Park.
